  • For over 15 years I've worked with Russell in support of his restaurants and other projects. Lately we've worked with Partner's in Careers to teach "Prep Cook Boot Camp". Teaching the basic skills of the kitchen to new citizens and others that need a hand up. Russell absolutely cares about our area and is driven to give his best to every project he creates. He'll take that energy to give his best to the citizens of Vancouver. Vote for Russell Brent, Port of Vancouver.

  • Russell Brent is a community member with heart! I've had the privilege of knowing Russell for over 10 years. In that time I've watched him give endlessly to the community. Whether it be through volunteer service, showing up at nonprofit fundraisers, supporting local nonprofits through fundraising, and a great many other ways. Russell Brent is somebody who truly cares about the community and I believe without any doubt that he would do the best possible job as commissioner. He is personally invested in this community and wants to see it thrive. For this and many other reasons Russell Brent has my vote and my endorsement. It is without hesitation that I recommend Russell Brent

  • I have known Russel for a long time. He is a genuine leader who cares about his community. I trust that he will make decisions based on the facts and he will gather the facts before he makes a decision. He was instrumental in helping Clark College raise money and build a new Culinary program and facility on behalf of our students. I rarely endorse a candidate but feel so strongly about Russel’s candidacy for Port Commissioner that I have chosen to endorse him!

  • When Russell was Regional Manager for Who-Songs and El Torito Restaurants I was his Regional Trainer for his Washington and Oregon stores. I found him not only competent in his managerial skills but also compassionate with a willingness to listen to input from both managers and employees to build consensus before making decisions. I have noticed over the years how involved he has become in the community giving freely of his time and talent and his organizational skills. I highly endorse Russell Brent for Port of Vancouver.

  • My husband and I lived two blocks from Mill Creek Pub and started frequenting the Pub for our regular date night, for several years. I highly recommend Russell for Vancouver Port Commissioner based on my experience and interaction with him. I firmly believe he has the qualities and skills to be an invaluable asset to the Port. His dedication, and exceptional work ethic will undoubtedly be a necessary contribution. Russell deserves your support and your vote! Myrna Leija

  • Russell is a consummate business connector and tirelessly works to bring people together to make everyone as successful as possible in whatever endeavor he is involved in. He has a consistently positive approach and thinks out of the box to get to a path that works. He believes in entrepreneurship, in education, in honest hospitality and business development. He has championed charities and come alongside restaurants to help them be successful. A recent example of this is his involvement in starting the local Prep Cook Bootcamp to help mentor those wanting to enter food service as well as assist restaurants that lack the time to do adequate training of new line cooks. This was innovation, hospitality and economic development all wrapped into an effective package. Russell is consistent, creative and has the business experience and acumen to solve problems and be collaborative. He understands how economic development happens and has the ability to develop relationships quickly. He is a critical thinker and someone who can bring people together.

  • Ever since I met Russell Brent in 2001 he has had a focus on how to build a stronger community. Many of us remember his eleven years as owner of Mill Creek Pub, and how he built his entire business model around strengthening nonprofits, being a tireless supporter of education, at all levels, and supporting projects that move our community forward. Russell is gifted in strategic thinking and is supportive of the Ports strategic plan. I know he is excited about the possibilities at Terminal 1, workforce development and economic development. I encourage you to support him with both financial means and your vote.
